Registration Basics
Below are helpful tips for before, during, and after registration using Workday, our student portal.
1. Review your Academic Progress to determine which courses you need to satisfy in your current program of study.
2. Use one of the methods below to register.
Note: If you are a Dual Enrollment student, you have different directions for registration than traditional students. Meet with your high school counselor and follow the registration steps on our Dual Enrollment website.
In Workday, you can register in several ways. The recommended method is to use Find Course Sections and Register. If you don’t have an Academic Plan or Pre-Registration Plan or prefer searching and registering by the course name or number, type Find Course Sections in the Workday search bar. This search works on a desktop computer or Workday mobile.
There are other methods for students to register, depending on your situation. See the table below for requirements and pros and cons for each method. Click on the links in the Register from column to go to the article describing that type of registration.

Your Academic Plan on Desktop
Use this method when you have an updated Academic Plan in Workday for the current Academic year and want to follow it closely.
Works directly from your Academic Plan and allows students to register quickly.
Academic Plan must be up to date and correct. You can't register this way via mobile.
Pre-Registration Plan on Desktop
If you have a Pre-Registration Plan set up in Workday.
Allows students to plan ahead and register quickly. This self-service tool is also available on mobile.
Pre-Registration Plan and Academic Plan must be created and updated.
Alternative Registration Method via Mobile
Use this method if you have the Workday app set up on your mobile device and don't want to use the other mobile options previously mentioned.
Convenient for mobile users.
You can only register for one course at a time.
3. Look for confirmation of your class schedule in Workday via View My Courses after registering. To apply changes to your registration, see the Drop, Swap, and Withdraw from Courses article.
4. To make any changes to your schedule, see the Academic Calendar to confirm you are within the acceptable times to make schedule changes without penalty to your student record or financial aid.
5. Log into Canvas to review the requirements, textbooks, materials, and syllabi for each of your classes to ensure you are ready for the first day of class.
6. Attend the first week of class to avoid being dropped for non-attendance.
