Understanding Your Financial Statement
Your Workday financial statement is in the Finances App under Financial Aid. It gives you information about your charges due, your payments made to the College, and any financial aid you have been awarded. To view and understand your financial statement, follow these steps for Workday on a desktop or in the mobile app.
Workday Terminology
Date Range - The beginning and end dates of the academic period you're viewing.
Anticipated Due - The amount of money you should pay the College before you begin classes; equals Charges minus Anticipated Payments.
Charges - The total amount of money charged for your tuition, books, and fees for that academic period. A breakdown of charges is displayed in a table below the summary.
Applied Payments - Payments made to the College to pay for your charges. These payments may be out-of-pocket or financial aid. Details on your applied payments are in a table below the summary.
Anticipated Payments - Payments the College expects to come from financial aid awarded to you. The aid has been officially awarded but has not yet been disbursed to your account.
Refunds - The amount you will receive in your bank account after financial aid has paid for the charges. Depending on the type of aid, there may be money left over that goes directly to your bank account for your use; equals Anticipated Payments minus Charges.
Your statement might look like this before financial aid has been disbursed to your Nelnet account.
- Date Range - The statement above is for Spring 2024 Session A.
- Anticipated Due - Nothing is due before your financial aid is available.
- Charges - Total amount you owe the College for tuition, books, and fees.
- Applied Payments - Zero because nothing has been paid yet, but nothing is owed yet.
- Anticipated Payments - The amount of financial aid you have been awarded but not yet received.
- Refunds - Zero because nothing has been paid yet, but nothing is owed yet.
After financial aid has been disbursed and refunded to the bank account you chose as your BankMobile preference, your statement might look like this.
- Date Range - The statement above is for Spring 2024 Session A.
- Anticipated Due - Nothing is due because your financial aid paid it.
- Charges - The total amount you owe the College for tuition, books, and fees.
- Applied Payments - The same as the charges because your financial aid paid it.
- Anticipated Payments - Zero because your financial aid paid it.
- Refunds - The total amount of your financial aid minus the applied payments, which goes into your bank account for your use.
View Your Statement on Desktop
1. From the Workday home page, open the Finances App.
2. Under My Account, select View Statement.
3. Click on the hamburger icon in the Academic Period box and select the academic period you want to view.
4. Click OK at the bottom of the page.
The top left side of the page shows your name, Student ID, the Academic Period you're viewing, and your Academic Level. The top right side of the page shows a summary of your charges and payments. The layout may change depending on your screen orientation.
Below the summary are detailed tables breaking down your Charges, Applied Payments, Refunds, and Courses. Applied Payments and Refunds will only appear if you have financial aid.
The Courses table in the Desktop App only shows your registered courses.
View Your Statement on Mobile
1. From the Workday home page, open the Finances App.
2. On an Android phone, select My Account, then View Statement. On an iPhone, select View Statement under My Account .
3. Click on the hamburger icon in the Academic Period box and select the academic period you want to view.
4. Click on the arrow in the upper right of the screen (Android) or the Next button (iPhone) to view your statement.
The top of the page shows the Academic Period, your Academic Level, and a summary of your charges and payments. The layout may change depending on your device and screen orientation.
5. Scroll down the page to see the rest of your statement summary and tables with details on your Charges, Applied Payments, Refunds, and Courses Registration Status.
6. Click on the orange Generate PDF button to generate a printable pdf of your statement.
7. Expand each table to see all the data by clicking on the expansion arrows and scrolling around the entire table.
The Courses table in the Mobile App shows both registered and unregistered/dropped courses.
